Khaya Umdani offers luxury accommodation for the discerning traveller. 5 of the 6 rooms are en-suite. One of these rooms is a spacious Honeymoon Suite complete with its own romantic spa bath for 2. All the rooms are air conditioned for your comfort. 2 rooms have queen size beds and for the other 4 you decide between king size or 2 single beds.

All linen are 100 % cotton percale. A TV lounge with flat screen TV, DVD player and kiddies DVDs are available upstairs. The kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering. A 10 seater dining table and chairs are available for smart dining. Outside is a huge furnished veranda with a gas braai, overlooking the braai/Lapa area and swimming pool.

Maqueda Lodge is a small family owned boutique lodge situated in Marloth Park – so close to the world-famous Kruger National Park that our guests frequently hear lions and other animals calling – especially at night.

Our location means that the closest entrance to Kruger is a short 15 minutes’ drive from the lodge. In addition, we are also ideally situated to enjoy day tours of the fascinating country of Swaziland as well as the famous Blyde River Canyon – part of the beautiful Panorama Route.

Maqueda Lodge is surrounded by the natural beauty of the African bush. Often, we have non-human visitors to the lodge such as giraffe and zebra as Marloth Park is an area containing the general game. Our bird life is fascinating and abundant around the lodge itself. This means that for those guests that would like some exercise it is possible to walk unaccompanied to the Kruger fence line where you may see a variety of animals within Kruger come down to the Crocodile River.

The observation point is a mere 15 minutes’ walk from the lodge where you can sit and relax or continue walking for as long as you want to!

With only 12 rooms we pride ourselves on a personal and relaxed atmosphere for our guests. We are very fortunate that a significant number of our guests return repeatedly and become more like family members.

Nextdoor Kruger is a self-catering family holiday house in Marloth Park wildlife conservancy. It’s next door to our popular Birdsong house, and it’s right on the doorstep of Kruger.

The house is only 15 minutes from the Crocodile bridge entry gate to the Kruger National Park. Nextdoor Kruger is designed to be simple and comfortable; compact yet spacious at the same time. Minimalist design emphasises space, harmony and natural light.

It’s beautiful, practical and functional. The interior living area flows to an indoor/outdoor dining and lounging area that transitions seamlessly into your own totally private bushland.

Ochre House is an intimate holiday house designed for couples who love privacy, space and style.

The location is perfect: A natural bushland setting, with the outside living area facing south and overlooking a lovely wooded glade crossed by a game trail that’s used by antelopes, zebras & giraffes. Ochre House is 120 square metres, with high 3-metre ceilings creating volume, space and abundant natural light.

Construction of Ochre House is thick concrete, the roof is steel, and the ceiling space is heavily insulated to provide cool comfort in the African summers while retaining overnight warmth in our brief and mild winters. However, the house is also fully air-conditioned to ensure comfort even during a spell of sustained summer heat. Design inspiration is Bauhaus simplicity and minimalism, with a seamless transition between architecture and nature.

Less is more. The main living space features a fully equipped kitchen with electric oven & ceramic cooktop and microwave, a reclaimed timber dining table and a comfortable, intimate lounge area. There’s also a washing machine and a discreet folding clothesline. A huge 4.5-metre glass wall leads to the patio area, and a spectacular 3.5-metre window seat/daybed with gorgeous bushland outlook.

Ochre House has one bedroom with king-size double bed, and a light-filled ensuite bathroom incorporating a large walk-in shower with its own bush views. A cot is available for a baby or small infant. The covered, all-weather patio is elevated, with spectacular bushland panorama and no other structures visible: It’s just you, the African bush, and the passing animals & birdlife. It has a 4.5-metre plunge pool, a custom-made stainless-steel hibachi grill, and a spacious outdoor seating area. The patio catches the morning sun for sunrise coffee or breakfast, but by midday it’s all bathed in cool, welcome shade
